What Remento does

Remento is a storytelling platform that transforms voice recordings into a professionally written, hardcover book. It's designed for families who want to preserve personal stories without asking anyone to write them down.

With Remento, the storyteller receives weekly prompts to share memories by speaking. The system turns these spoken memories into edited, written stories. Later, they are printed into a full-color, hardcover book that can be shared with future generations.

How it starts

Each project begins by selecting storytelling prompts. You can browse Remento’s expert-curated question bank, generate personalized prompts by answering a few questions about the storyteller, or write your own. You can also upload photos and create prompts around them. This is helpful when you want to learn the story behind a specific image.

Anyone involved in the project—hosts, storytellers, or collaborators—can contribute prompts or photos. This makes the process collaborative from the beginning.

What storytellers receive

Once the project is active, the storyteller will receive a prompt by email or text message each week for one year. They don’t need to log in, download anything, or remember a password. Each message contains a link that opens directly to the prompt.

The storyteller can record using any device. It works on phones, tablets, or computers. They can record audio or video, and the response can be as short as a few seconds or up to thirty minutes. They can also choose to record on demand at any time.

What happens to the recordings

When a story is recorded, Remento immediately processes it. First, the audio or video is turned into a transcript. This transcript is cleaned to remove filler words and errors, making it easier to read. You can keep it as-is, or choose to convert it into a narrative story using Remento’s speech-to-story system.

This system works like a ghostwriter. It rewrites the transcript into a more polished version of the same story while keeping the storyteller’s tone and personality intact. You can edit the result at any time.

All participants can review the story before it’s finalized. Hosts or collaborators can also leave a private reaction, often a thank-you message or reflection, which is shared with the storyteller.

How the book comes together

There is no limit on the number of stories that can be recorded in a year. Once you're ready, you can begin preparing the book. You’ll choose the cover, set the order of the stories, and select which stories to include.

The book itself is professionally printed in full color on double-thick paper. It includes a QR code with each story that links to the original recording. That means future generations can not only read your loved one’s stories, but also hear their voice.

What makes Remento different

You don't need to be a writer to create a beautiful memoir. Remento handles the transcription, editing, and book design. The storyteller only needs to speak.

That’s what makes Remento work for people of all ages and abilities. Whether you're preserving a legacy, capturing family history, or simply enjoying stories you’ve never heard before, Remento turns the process into something anyone can do. And it turns the result into something no one will want to lose.
